The room was modern, a good size, and especially warm and cozy during my winter stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was decent. If it isn’t part of your rate, the roughly €10 price seems fair for what you get. The problem was the shower drain. After a couple of minutes, water started pooling and drained very slowly. You can manage if you keep the shower short, but maintenance should fix it. Apart from that, it was a pleasant, comfortable stay. I’d recommend it for the warm rooms and modern feel, with the slow drain in mind.

We had a great stay, with a fabulous location and very large, modern rooms. The bar is wonderful, too. Antonio makes a mean martini and is always keen to please, with little bites and some salads on offer.

Antonio and Frederica were attentive, extremely helpful hosts, and the breakfast was really good, with Sicilian pastries and good Italian coffee. There’s self-service American coffee as well if you prefer the weaker kind. Our first-floor room, 016, was quiet and spacious, though it didn’t have any extra seating. The rooms were modern and very clean. I’d heard that some nearby areas were rougher, but it felt safe staying in the touristy parts near via Etna.

The rooms were comfortable, and the service was good. It’s just outside the city centre, which makes a difference for traffic, crowds and price. Antonio at the bar deserves a mention: he served us three kinds of Amaro and talked us through how each is made and the drink’s history.

The manager, barkeeper and breakfast staff were all extremely welcoming and nice. Our room was big and spotless, and it’s perfectly placed for going into the city. A very good stay. I’ll likely be back next year.
