The rooftop terrace is a lovely spot, with views over Catania’s rooftops, the sea and the cathedral from above. We had a very positive stay at B&B Sogno Etneo. Alessandra, the owner, was very nice and gave us useful advice about places to see and good restaurants. The entrance has a pleasant smell, and our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. I’d recommend it, especially since it’s close to the main attractions.

We happened to be in Catania during the huge Sant’Agatha festival and got to watch the big fireworks from the rooftop terrace. The view over the historic city was spectacular. Alessandra was amazing, like a local friend, helping us make the most of our stay with tips on what to see and where to go. The place was really clean and well equipped, and everything is within walking distance from this very central location. Grazie mille, I’d highly recommend staying here! ❤️

The location worked well, with plenty of restaurants nearby, though it got quite noisy at night. I stayed for four days and the room was tidy and clean. The owner seemed quite meticulous and explained the room keys and breakfast coupon when I checked in. Each morning I used the coupon at the small bar opposite the B&B, just around the corner, for coffee and croissants. I was given three different sized towels for the whole four days, which might bother some women guests. The hot water was good, but the shower floor is slippery, so be careful.

The rooms we booked were spacious and clean, but that was where the cleaning stopped. During our three-night stay, the rooms were never cleaned, the trash wasn’t taken out, the sheets weren’t straightened or changed, and we had to reuse the same towels. We ran out of toilet paper and had to buy our own. Breakfast was at a nearby cafe and included only one drink, either coffee or orange juice, and one item to eat, either a small pizza or croissant. Anything else cost extra. We were a family of five in two rooms and had asked the host to arrange transportation. I’d said we had three large suitcases, but the small taxi they sent fit only four people, so one of our children had to sit on us. The property is on the 2.5th floor with no elevator, so we had to carry the big luggage up all those stairs. It’s certainly not suitable for older visitors. This property presents itself as a three-star hotel, but it is 100% not.

The location and scenery are nice, but the owner was very rude. Judging by the negative replies, she doesn’t seem willing to change things on her side. The place needs better handling and management.
