Hotel Saline

Hotel Saline gave us a very positive impression, and I’d recommend it to friends, couples, families, younger people, and older people alike. The managers are exceptionally welcoming and friendly. I stayed one night with my partner, and our room was spotless, with clean sheets and bright white towels. We could still smell the cleaning products when we went up. The rooms are standard, and the one drawback was a bathroom a little smaller than usual. The outdoor pool was lovely and also suited to little ones because the water isn’t very deep. Great quality for the price, highly recommended. You really get to experience beautiful ROMAGNA here.

The one bright spot was Mrs. Lucia in the dining room, who was very kind and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. We had a room for four with a balcony only 1.5 metres long, so drying our beach towels was a struggle every day. It took two days of politely telling them the TV remote wasn’t working before they changed the batteries. The cleaning was terrible: one day no one came, another day the towels weren’t changed, and one afternoon I waited outside the room for 40 minutes with two little girls until they cleaned it at 2 PM, so the children could nap. The food needs a lot of improvement. For eight days I ate potatoes prepared every which way, and the dishes lacked imagination and flavour.

I’d give this no stars if I could. I used to work at Hotel Saline and Moja in Cesenatico, and based on my experience I wouldn’t stay at either. I slept in an attic stable with mice while working at Saline, and wasn’t given a room. At Saline, I saw leftovers from lunch and dinner reheated for the next day with cream added, supposedly so guests wouldn’t know. The pool is very small, unlike how it appears on Booking.com or in booking listings. Room mattresses are dirty and stained, then covered with protectors so guests won’t see. The air conditioning leaks onto guests’ suitcases, and the bathrooms are in poor condition. Wardrobes fall down in the rooms, especially at Saline, and neither hotel complies with the law. I advise against staying there.

The staff’s kindness is the real strength here, especially Mr. Fulgenzio and Mrs. Lucia. They’re professional and friendly, and help create a family atmosphere that made our stay pleasant. The food was good, with options for children, and the hotel offers good value for money. We spent a peaceful week at Hotel Saline with my family on a full-board basis. It’s well placed near both the seafront and the city centre, with supermarkets, buses, and the train station close by. The property could do with some renovation, but it was clean and had useful facilities, including a pool and a play area. I’d recommend it.
