We were less than a five-minute walk from all the gondolas in Corvara, which made this the most convenient ski hotel I’ve stayed at. The ski room was well designed and dried all our gear properly. Our room was spacious and clean, and every staff member we met was kind and spoke English well. There were two drawbacks for me: the door had no deadbolt to lock at night, and parking was a five-minute walk away instead of being attached to the hotel.

The central location is a real plus, as is the free parking in a nearby garage. The owners were genuinely friendly and helpful. The apartments are beautifully furnished, very well kept, and spotlessly clean, and the bed was a 10/10 for comfort. I stayed in a room rather than a full apartment, so I missed having a kitchenette or breakfast option. Even a tiny shared mini-kitchen, perhaps in the cellar, would make a big difference for room guests. The Finnish and Turkish saunas were clean and well maintained, and available every day. A little background music would help complete the spa atmosphere. Keep in mind that in high season, bookings are usually for full weeks only. It’s a very well-run place and I’d recommend it.

The flat itself is lovely, with a great view and location, but the way the owners handled communication and guests left a bad impression. It also felt overpriced. This was my fourth year in Corvara, and for much less than 360€ a night, you can find lovely hotel rooms with breakfast and half board. We didn’t get all the booking emails. I mentioned this to the male owner on our first night, then told the female owner in good faith that my sister and two couples would join us for a quiet New Year’s Eve dinner and leave before midnight. She reacted as though I’d proposed a weekday rave. We didn’t know guests weren’t allowed at all, and we were open about our plans. I asked whether we should eat elsewhere. She said we could go ahead that night as long as we caused no nuisance and were careful of the very sensitive fire alarm. We did exactly that. It was a calm evening, since we wanted to ski the next day. Still, days after we left, she emailed to say we couldn’t book again next year, even though the male owner had told us in person that we were welcome back. We were polite and quiet throughout all seven days. The response felt rude and lacking in empathy, especially after I’d clearly explained it was an honest mistake. One reason to rent a large flat with a full kitchen and dining room instead of a cheaper room is to save money by eating in. But since most people in Corvara stay in hotels, the guest rule would mean eating alone or paying extra to meet even one friend at a restaurant. Guests apparently can’t even step inside with you, so you couldn’t ask your sister to bring something over or have a quiet afternoon tea together. There was also a frustrating mix-up about cleaning. The male owner told us the cleaner would come Tuesday. She came Monday and woke us, then said she couldn’t come Tuesday and would return Wednesday. We accepted that calmly. But she showed up Tuesday after all, waking us again, despite having said she couldn’t make it that day. We were patient and didn’t complain. Then the female owner complained that we had not let the cleaner into the room until Wednesday, because they needed to “control that everything is in place.” She ignored my clear, calm explanation, and it made me wonder what sort of guests they’re used to, to treat us this way. She was complaining about something we should have complained about, poor communication between the owners and cleaning service. Such a waste of potential.

A group of us came to Villa Trieste for the Maratona sportive, and we could keep our bikes safely in the ski room. Manuela and Steffan were so knowledgeable about the area and where to eat, and went out of their way to help us. The apartments are beautifully presented and the facilities are excellent. It’s a gem in Corvara, and one of the best mountain stays I’ve had. I’ll be back.

It was easy to make our own meals since the kitchen had everything we needed. The apartment was beautiful and spotless, and reception staff were welcoming and very polished. The location also made it easy to get to local attractions. There’s secure bike storage, and washing machines and a dryer for 5 euro. Small items like water and chips are sold at regular prices. Highly recommended. Thanks to Manuela & Stefan 🙏❤️
