The sea and mountain views, quiet surroundings, and natural setting are beautiful, and Residence La Falata makes a good base for exploring Sardinia. The pool also has a lovely view. We were there for 11 days, and the first two were pleasant. We were allowed to check in early, and when a bathroom bulb failed, it was replaced quickly, so despite critical Booking.com and Google Maps reviews, service seemed good at first. My mother had booked a spacious apartment for five, with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. On day three, the drains started failing: the toilets wouldn't flush, the shower trays wouldn't drain, and water bubbled up from the kitchen drain. My mother messaged the owner on WhatsApp and got no reply. That evening the sewer overflowed and sewage flooded all three bedrooms, the kitchen, and both bathrooms. Clothes, suitcases, and other belongings left on the floor got soaked and dirty. We took everything to a laundromat ourselves and managed to get it somewhat clean. She messaged again and heard nothing. When she called, the first suggestion was that she "just come by tomorrow." Only after insisting did she get the access code to another apartment as a temporary fix. It was smaller, with two bedrooms instead of three, fewer kitchen utensils, one less air conditioner, and a sofa bed in a small living room. It was clearly less suitable for five people, and the missing cooking utensils made preparing meals very difficult. We were told the stay there was temporary and that our original apartment would be cleaned. The next morning, several vacuum trucks were pumping out the apartment and emptying the sewage system. Even so, we spent the rest of the holiday in the smaller place despite my mother's repeated complaints. We were told it was the only apartment available and that they were "busy" working on ours, but no suitable solution was offered. The customer service was a huge disappointment. They didn't answer messages during a serious sewage problem or while the apartment was flooding. Action came only after we called, and even then it was minimal; at first, she didn't want to come until the next day. My mother is now filing a complaint through Booking.com and asking for compensation for the inconvenience. The location is beautiful, and if everything goes smoothly, you may have a wonderful stay. But if something goes wrong, as it did for us, you're on your own. We won't be back.
