The location makes getting around easy: there’s parking on site, a pizzeria-restaurant 100 meters away, and Le Castella nearby for a walk along the waterfront, shops, and local food. The Aragonese fortress rising from the sea is a highlight. For a quiet evening in, there’s also a garden barbecue area. I loved waking up to the sea view. The apartments are close to a fine, white sandy beach, and when the water is calm it feels like a natural swimming pool. The equipped beach has umbrellas, sun loungers, and deckchairs. Residenza Barco Apartments & Suites was a peaceful place to unwind and enjoy a holiday focused on relaxation and discovery.

The owner was friendly and helpful, but I’m sorry to say we won’t come back. The apartment was small, with a bedroom and a sofa bed in the kitchen, and felt unkempt. It’s fine for one couple, or at most one child. We had to oil the bathroom door because it was difficult to open and made a terrible noise. The bedside table drawers were even worse, and the sink tap was awkward to use for washing. We left a beach bag outside and a mouse ran out when we picked it up. There’s no bar or shop, and you need a car to get anywhere.
