Suites del Gallo

The digital side of the stay is worth knowing about. Check-in, payments, and getting into the building are largely handled online, so anyone who prefers meeting someone in person and using a card key might be happier at a hotel. We had a few check-in hiccups, but Gabriele kept in touch and helped us through it. The room was spacious, and everything was clean and worked well. A fuse did blow once, but we fixed it ourselves without much trouble. The train station and bus terminal were both about a seven minute walk away. The neighborhood was fairly quiet too, and we slept really well each night.

Our room even had its own balcony, and the shower was the best. Suites del Gallo is only a few steps from Vatican City, with new, clean facilities and all the comforts. They cleaned daily. We’d definitely recommend it and plan to come back.

The room was clean, and the bathroom was updated and clean too. There’s a kitchen with cups, silverware, a wine opener, coffee machine, and soap for washing dishes. The TV’s Channel 20 had Big Bang Theory and Spiderman in English. For the price and location, it’s good value. Vatican City and the train station are each about a ten minute walk, in opposite directions. Getting in was straightforward: you use your phone for the main building and the apartment’s front door, then find keys for the building and your room waiting on the desk inside. Their site has a video showing the steps. You need your phone to enter the apartment inside the main building, since there’s no key for that door. If your phone dies, you’ll be waiting in the hallway until another guest arrives to let you in.

The manager was attentive and courteous, and the room was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Everything was impeccably clean. The bed was the best part for me, so comfortable that we slept great. We were thoroughly satisfied and had a spectacular vacation!
