Room 110 was tiny, a double room that felt like a jail cell. There was no desk or safe, just two lousy single beds and a small radiator that never came on. The room was dirty, with hairs and stains everywhere. The bathroom was the worst part: cramped and dated, with a broken handle so the door wouldn't close properly and kept swinging back open. The shower was tiny, with an uncomfortably small shower head, and there was no hand soap, so we had to buy our own. Every time someone flushed or washed their hands, a disgusting sewage smell hung around. The thin sheet and little blanket didn't help with how freezing the room usually was. The food was awful too. Breakfast was limited and stale. They advertised fresh orange juice, but what we got was diluted, and nothing looked like the photos. Dinner was a disgusting slop, the same for every student: usually undercooked rice, pasta with sour sauce, an unseasoned slab of meat and sometimes a boiled vegetable. There were even hairs in the food. The staff were extremely rude and hostile to me and my school. They refused us hot water for tea or noodles, and I was refused a fresh set of towels. They also had us leave room keys in a shared area anyone could access, and didn't check ID when we picked one up. I came with my school on a ski trip, with expensive fees that included accommodation, and was horrified when I saw the bedroom. We were excited to leave every morning, and not just to go skiing. It was a hostile environment. The location was convenient and beautiful, but the hotel had nothing to do with that. If you can, stay somewhere else. Nothing else could redeem the place.

The food was the biggest letdown. It tasted like they were trying to make it as cheaply as possible, and later I wondered whether anyone Italian would happily eat it. The pasta was plain tomato sauce, and the cheese offering seemed to be only thin slices of Emmental. Was there any Italian cheese at breakfast or dinner? I didn't see any. What a delicacy, and what did that cost, 50 cents? The Italian cuisine at Bellevue hotel? A joke. It was a disgrace to Italian food, made with the cheapest ingredients on the market. The head of staff was extremely unfriendly. You can't do tourism with that attitude. We weren't allowed to stay outside after 10 pm, and she even warned us she'd call the police. We left a box of beers and a Bluetooth speaker in the outdoor area overnight, and they disappeared. When we asked the staff, they said they had no idea. We were a group of more than 30, with barely anyone else at the hotel, so I wonder if one of our own friends took the speaker. The ski storage room wasn't very hygienic either, to put it mildly. We didn't recommend the place and wouldn't return. I also found it funny how the hotel replies to negative reviews by denying them and having an explanation for everything. In my earlier review I held back from saying the head of staff seemed purely racist, even though that was honestly how we felt. Her reply only confirmed that feeling. Dear host, we eat better food in Romania and have better hotel services, which we treat respectfully. This isn't our first time abroad. We've had excellent experiences and good reviews in return. Do visit Romania to learn about hospitality, quality customer service and good food!

My daughter is coming to visit you on Saturday with her school :) We loved the way the hotel replies to comments. You're absolute legends. X

We spent the whole week here and I can't complain about the food. Dinner came with a buffet, a first course, a second course and dessert. Each day there were three choices for both the first and second courses, so we could pick what suited us best. The hotel was very clean, and the rooms were made up daily, including fresh towels. Getting to the lift at Daolasa took about 15 minutes. The bus is free and stops right outside the main doors. My only small complaints: the rooms are quite small and you can hear noise from the corridor. Ski boot heaters in the ski room would be useful, and breakfast could have more variety, maybe scrambled eggs once a week.

The staff were really nice and tried to make our stay as pleasant as they could, though the waiter didn't speak English very well. The hotel is a little old, but the rooms were clean and warm. Wi-Fi worked well, even at the far end of the top floor. There were plenty of sweet things at breakfast, but no bread, just one kind of bun. Dinner was great. You could make yourself a salad, then choose from three main course options. We selected our two courses the night before, and dessert was available but optional. The menu was in English, but the translation made it hard to tell what the choices were. The ski bus stop is about 50 meters from the hotel. The last bus from Daolasa doesn't stop there, so I'd take an earlier one.
