The family-run place is a hidden gem, right at the edge of the Occitan trails in the Maira valley. The hosts are passionate and the food is wonderful. Highly recommended.

The ingredients are top-quality and the prices fair. It’s a well-kept, welcoming place, and the manager was very kind. He’s an excellent chef, too.

The food was excellent, and we felt comfortable even with our very small child. We had both breakfast and dinner at this timeless place, where we received a warm welcome and had a comfortable room. It’s highly recommended as a base for exploring the Maira Valley. Thanks again to the hosts, and congratulations! Giulia, Luca, and Zeno :)

The four-course dinners were unusually good, and the very friendly host is a great cook. Breakfast was perfectly fine too. Our room was simple, practical, in very good condition, and had a very clean, apparently fairly new bathroom. The Ostello del Monastero is on a quiet road with fruit orchards nearby. Dronero is a short drive away, and from the monastery you can set off on hikes into the nearby mountains. The pedestrian bridge over the river nearby is very convenient. We stayed two nights and highly recommend the place.
