Lunch was delicious, and my partner particularly liked the wine made there. Breakfast was pretty basic, just pastries from a shop, but the owner was very friendly. We were there as a group, and the infinity pool was a highlight, with lovely views across the grounds. The rooms are simple. The hotel is remote, surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the farm animals were a hit with the kids.
We stopped here on a Viking excursion for Carbonara, and it was wonderful. The food and the people were both great. They grow their own vegetables and raise their own animals, too.
The setting is a real highlight, with a lovely pool, green lawns, hills on both sides, and plenty of farm animals for kids to see. The food was lovely, and the rustic place has lots of character, though it isn't modern. It could make a romantic weekend away. Breakfast was self-service, with coffee, homemade cake, and a few pastries. I did miss hot food, and eggs from the chickens nearby would have been ideal.
The food is really good here. I'd go for the grilled meat, wild boar stew with olives and orange peel (spezzatino di cinghiale con olive ed arance), and crostata di fichi. It's a countryside agriturismo about 30 minutes from Rome, with its own farm for growing food and vegetables. There's a great pool and a play area for children.
The staff were very kind, the food was great, and the swimming pool is beautiful. We had a wonderful stay at Casale delle Ginestre. Highly recommended!
