The rooms are fine for sleeping, and the bathroom is large and spacious. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the sea. The room is reached by stairs, which can be tiring if you’re carrying bags, especially heavy ones. The reception isn’t staffed all the time, so it’s not good if you need something and can’t find anyone to help. In general, though, it’s an ordinary place to rest.

We waited two hours and were very frustrated. Our check-in was booked for 3.30pm, and after a 2.5-hour drive we arrived at 3.27, but nobody was there. The man eventually showed up at 5.30pm, then said check-in was at 4pm. He denied speaking to anyone the previous day, even though our previous four-star hotel had called 24 hours ahead as the directions requested. They tried four times before getting through and said he sounded drunk. There’s no check-in lobby, and we had to find Wi-Fi so we could use our US phones to call. Nobody answered after five attempts. Travelocity couldn’t reach anyone either. We were put on hold twice, then disconnected after 45 minutes. When we tried Travelocity again, the others in our party returned and told us the man had finally arrived. This guest house was part of a Travelocity package. I would never book here!

We enjoyed the breakfasts every day, and the place was clean and tidy. The owner spoke with us in English and told us what was good to see in the area. I really recommend staying here. Thank you, Mr Pio.
