Hotel Riviera Fiumicino

Reception staff were very helpful, especially Massimo, who we dealt with most. He was exceptionally friendly, a real credit to the hotel. It's near the airport, and the regular transfers are easy to arrange at reception. We booked fairly last minute for a few days away. The room was pleasant, though the mattress was hard, which is personal taste. There was no kettle, but they made it clear we could ask for coffee. The cleaners were friendly, but honestly so loud very early in the morning. We've never had such inconsiderate cleaning staff. It really seemed as if they were trying to make as much noise as possible.

What bothered me was finding out about the shuttle surcharge only when we were leaving. At check-in, I asked specifically if it was €7 each way, and reception confirmed €7 there and €7 back. They could see my large bike bag, but nobody mentioned an extra charge. The next employee said the bag counted as another person, so the fare was double. The shuttle was still cheaper than a taxi, but I could have taken public transport if I’d known. I had plenty of time and wasn’t in a rush, yet I had to pay the higher price to reach the airport on time. The conflicting explanations made me wonder whether staff were following different rules or interpreting them differently. The hotel itself was pleasant, the room was perfectly fine, and the shuttle arrived on time and ran smoothly. I travel regularly and had planned to use this hotel more often, which made the lack of clear pricing especially disappointing. Please explain any extra charges for oversized or sports luggage in advance.

We needed somewhere at the last minute to spend a long layover. It’s a short drive from the airport, and the person at reception was very nice.

We slept really well here. The room was clean, comfortable, and had effective AC, and the hotel is in a quiet area. It’s also close to the beach and plenty of restaurants, with a bus stop nearby and an airport shuttle provided by the hotel. The staff gave great service. Massimo deserves a special mention for being so helpful and attentive. Hotel Riviera made for a wonderful stay.
