Adelaide House

Getting checked in was straightforward, and the room was immaculate. There was a lovely fresco painted on the ceiling, and we never heard noise from other guests. The cathedral, restaurants, museums, shops, and pretty much everything you’d want in Florence are literally steps away. We stayed here three years ago and will absolutely come back on our next visit. I can’t wait.

The Adelaide House puts you right by Florence’s main sights, including Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, which is just seconds away. From SMN train station it’s about a 12-20 minute walk, depending on your pace. It’s a great choice if you’re new to Firenze. The host communicates well and gave us clear directions after booking, and check-in and checkout were easy. We could leave our heavy bags in the room after checkout while visiting Accademia Gallery and the Opera del Duomo Museum, then pick them up by 12PM. The old building has a rustic Renaissance-Byzantine feel. Our room was fairly spacious and very clean, with a small bathroom. There was a fridge and a teapot for hot drinks, though I wish there had been two cups for me and my partner instead of one. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the sheets cozy, and the ceiling lovely. You can hear some outside noise, but closing the windows kept most of it out.

Grace was kind and really accommodating. We arrived in Florence much earlier than expected, and when I let her know, she had the room cleaned right away. We couldn’t have been happier. The room was very clean, pleasant, quiet, and secure, right by the Duomo and close to lots of major sights. Grace was helpful and informative, too. She also gave us coupons for breakfast at a nearby cafe. Highly recommend this friendly host.

Our hostess was awesome, friendly, and accommodating, and made the stay feel special. The facilities were clean and comfortable, and the location is great, close to Duomo. Our group of seven had three wonderful days here. I’d highly recommend it, as long as you’re okay with stairs: it’s four flights up.
