Amabilia Florence

They call it Amabilia Bed & Breakfast online, on the business cards, and on the front door, but there’s no breakfast. Also, the room doors don’t lock from the inside, and housekeeping can walk right in without knocking.

The staff were wonderful. They helped arrange flowers and champagne in the room for our arrival, which really touched my girlfriend. Thanks for making the stay special. Getting my accessibility scooter up to the third floor was difficult because the elevator is very small.

The bed was painfully hard, with a plastic cover on it, and the shower didn’t work. There wasn’t any soap either, which is basic stuff. Then I saw a warning that I’d be charged for using the water in the fridge, even though there was no water there. When I arrived at night, the building had no elevator, despite what I’d been led to believe. The doors were locked and there were no lights, so I had to carry my heavy luggage up three floors in the dark. In the morning, when I raised these problems, the owner took no responsibility. Terrible conditions and attitude. Avoid this place.

The location is great, and the small lift was handy since we were on the third floor. The room was smallish but clean and adequate, though the shower wasn’t very clean. It was quite expensive, especially with no breakfast despite being advertised as Bed & Breakfast. We only got two tiny Nesspresso shots. DMack.
