The location is great, but this was a terrible place to stay. The elevator is so tiny that waiting for it wastes time, and the entrance upstairs was pretty dirty. The floor under the bed was dirty too, and they used a bucket as one of the bed legs. A plastic bucket, seriously. What a joke.

The room was pretty good, and the landlord replied quickly, with no issues there. The bathroom was detached from the room, which was hectic. It’s right in the centre, the best thing about the location, though it can be a bit noisy. I wouldn’t call the noise a major problem, more like white noise. I’d recommend it if that doesn’t bother you.

Between San Lorenzo and Sta. María dei Fiori, the location is easily the best part. Check-in was through WhatsApp: someone with an Italian number sent the codes and a video showing how to open the doors. Our room was clean when we arrived, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was okay, though I wasn’t sure about the shower. The water was warm and the pressure was decent. They provide individual-use toiletries, but if you have long hair, bring your own shampoo. The old windows let in the outside noise and temperature. You hear everything, including the trash vans starting their work around 5 a.m. With the high ceilings and tiled floor, the room gets quite cold even with the electric heaters. To me, those devices seemed mostly there to make you feel like something could be done while wasting a lot of energy. Bring slippers. The bathroom is warmer, though. The painted papers on the wall were stuck on badly, and I found myself wondering what they were hiding. The wiring and plugs looked like they’d been installed by unprofessional people. The funniest, though uncomfortable, thing was the toilet lid: it didn’t fit the toilet, so you have to hold it against your back while sitting. At least the place is clean. The bed is comfy, it’s more or less clean, and the location is amazing. It’ll do if comfort isn’t a priority, but be aware of what you’re getting for the price. And be nice to the other guests :)

I’d avoid this place. The room was dirty and moldy, there was no real shower, the toilet had marks from previous use, and there wasn’t even a bathroom window. The location doesn’t make the price or filthy condition worthwhile. I contacted the owner, who wanted payment through an external link, then disappeared. Luckily, booking.com acted promptly and cancelled the reservation.
