It’s a good choice for a simple, no-frills trip. The room was clean, and the heating, which is boiler-based, made it very warm. The owner showed me how to make espresso. The chair was a bit old and the shower flow weak, though I think that’s common in Italy.

The host is happy to answer questions and help out. Our room and bathroom were bright and clean. There are plenty of breakfast options nearby, plus a bus stop for lines 2 and 14, which go to the main station.

Florence is beautiful, and walking its streets makes you feel the old-world culture sinking in.
