We were only a short walk from so many central Florence sights, and crossing Ponte Vecchio to reach Oltrarno was easy. That district has more places to see and some great restaurants. Francesco was very kind and accommodating when we booked at the last minute. We stayed four nights in June 2023 in a lovely double room, I think the pink one shown online. It had air conditioning, plenty of sunshine, and an idyllic view over Via Pour Santa Maria. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The location really is great, and the staff were friendly enough. They offered us a bottle of wine when we arrived. But the room was small, clean, and dated, and it needs remodeling. The shower door was coming apart, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly, and the floor, baseboards, and furniture were damaged. We could also hear noise from the apartment above. For the quality of the room, it was too expensive, and I came away disappointed. I don’t understand the glowing reviews.

I made a mistake with my booking and was charged $2,800. I contacted the hotel minutes later to correct it, but they ignored me for weeks. When I finally got through, they said there was nothing they could do. That money was just taken from me, and their replies were extremely rude.
