Best Western Plus CHC Florence

I drive tour buses professionally and spend much of my working life in hotels, so I think the negative reviews are completely justified. There's nowhere to safely park a bus while dropping off clients, and the reception staff didn't seem to care. When I asked where to park, they said they weren't drivers and couldn't advise me. In the service industry, I think people should help one another instead of pretending to be someone they aren't. The hotel also smells bad and is moldy from the first floor through the seventh, as others have said. I absolutely do not recommend it.

The breakfast was outstanding, and the service was terrific. The hotel is in a Florence suburb, but it's in a safe neighborhood and easy to reach from the T2 light rail, about a four-block walk from the stop. There's a Lidl nearby if you need one, though no restaurants close by, so eat dinner before heading back.

The staff were courteous and helpful, offering early check-in and breakfast bags for our early flight. Being near the airport was convenient, but the rest of the stay fell short, and for the price I can't recommend it. The room had visible mold and a lot of dust, and the bathtub didn't drain properly, making showers unpleasant. The laminate floor had noticeable gaps. Although the furniture looked fairly modern, cleanliness was a major problem. Sound insulation was poor, with constant outside noise. The area felt somewhat unsafe, and the very small lift was uncomfortable for more than one person with luggage.

We booked two nights and left after just one. The rooms, elevator and parking all felt much smaller than the pictures suggested, and the smell was unbearable. Odors from the pipes and plumbing use in the room above came through the walls and made both the bathroom and room stink. I had to keep the bathroom door shut. We thought we'd be closer to the city for sightseeing, but the location was farther out than expected. When we checked out early, neither the receptionist nor the manager asked why. The receptionist called the manager to help us check out, and he didn't ask either. My husband and I both found that really odd.
