Breakfast had a delicious spread with plenty of good options, and our room was a clean, nicely decorated, comfortable place to rest after sightseeing. The staff were welcoming and professional, and made an effort to help us feel at home. The location by the central station made getting in and out of Florence easy. We could also walk to the main sights without much trouble, which saved us time. Everything about the stay worked out wonderfully, and we’d happily recommend the hotel and return.

The friendly, courteous staff were lovely from check-in through checkout, and the location near the station, within walking distance of the city center, was a real plus. Still, for what we paid, the room wasn’t comfortable enough for me. The mattress felt stiff and the pillows were thin. The shower didn’t have its own enclosed area, so water spread across the bathroom floor. We had to keep adjusting the shower head to stop it running all over the room. Concrete walls and floors also made the room feel lower quality. The minibar items weren’t complimentary, including the water and tea. That wasn’t a huge issue, but other hotels we stayed at in Italy included those, so it’s useful to know if you’re expecting similar amenities. The location and staff were great, but the comfort fell short of my expectations.

Giovanna greeted us both when we arrived and when we left, and she was so kind and professional. The staff were warm, attentive, and exceptionally helpful throughout. We also got a room upgrade and several complimentary items. The hotel is larger than it first appears, tucked across from Florence’s central train station. It’s very central, with several places to eat nearby and within walking distance of David, well-known churches, and other sights. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. A hidden-in-plain-sight gem.

We paid 30 euros to upgrade, and got the most spacious room we’d had in Europe. It was clean, and a large bottle of water on the desk was complimentary, though the items in the mini fridge were not. The hotel is right outside the train station, which was ideal for spending more time in Florence after checkout.
