Columbus Urban Resort

It’s a charming, intimate hotel that seems to have thought of everything, even a thermal spa. I’d forgotten my bathing suit, but they had one available for 20€. The hotel is outside the center, which suited us because Florence gets packed, especially in high season when the streets are shoulder to shoulder. It’s about a 25-minute walk, or you can use the very convenient shuttle into the center if you don’t feel like walking. Though really, you should walk. If you’re visiting Florence, go stay here.

We chose this hotel for our wedding, and the team helped with everything we needed to make it happen, including the garden room. It all turned out beautifully, and the service was excellent. Thanks for making the ceremony so special. Our room was nice, just a little small, and there wasn’t enough space for clothes and luggage. The shuttle goes to the city center, but it only seats eight, so book a spot. The riverside location is lovely for an evening walk. There’s also a spa with a Turkish bath, sauna, steam room, and massage.

We liked the pool and the bar, which was a nice place to spend a quiet hour indoors or outside. A taxi ride to everything we did was quick, and the service staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quaint and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, though it cost extra, and I’d recommend staying in for it if you plan to head out later. Dinner was the one letdown. The service was below par, the food was expensive, and the chef missed the mark in my opinion. Still, we highly recommend staying here and will be back.

A real hidden gem, just outside the main city area. They have bikes and shuttles, so getting around isn’t an issue. The rooms, food, and service were incredible from start to finish. Get breakfast included. The cocktails are a little pricey, but worth it 😁 We’ll be back.
