Duomo Luxury Terrace

We spent three nights here in October 2025, and it was a delightful stay from beginning to end, a 10 out of 10 for us. The room's thoughtful details made it especially comfortable, and the interiors, cleanliness, and staff all impressed us. It's on the third floor and was easy for us to get into, despite comments we'd read about it being hard to find. The location is right in the center, while still feeling comfortable and convenient. We're grateful for such a lovely visit. We'd gladly come back and recommend the hotel to our friends.

Be very careful with the cancellation terms here. We had booked four nights in Florence, but a genuine medical emergency involving my husband meant we couldn't travel. We contacted the hotel ahead of time and explained what had happened, but they wouldn't give even a partial refund. Their answer was firm, with no room to negotiate, and we felt there was no empathy. They offered no credit, alternative, or goodwill gesture. Disruptions can happen, and this experience left us feeling the hotel showed no flexibility or compassion when we needed it. If understanding and customer care matter to you, think carefully before booking unless you're certain you can travel or have chosen a fully flexible cancellation option.

The room and location were lovely, but at over 600€ a night including city tax, this was the most expensive and unfortunately the worst place we stayed on our Rome, Florence, and Umbria trip. We paid 582€ plus city tax per night for the Eleonora Junior Suite, and the quality didn't justify that price. It felt like a solid three-star stay, nowhere near five-star, and we wish we'd booked elsewhere. The suite was spacious, with a beautiful view from the room and the rooftop terrace. It was a little dark and somewhat dated. The minibar was included, and there was coffee in the room. Breakfast was very good and served in a beautiful place a few blocks away. The location itself is excellent, with sights, shops, and restaurants right nearby. We didn't get a good night's sleep in the Eleonora Suite. Street music and people talking carried into the room at night, and the church bells first rang at 7:45 in the morning. The bathroom walls don't reach the ceiling, so morning lights can disturb someone who's still sleeping. Friendly staff were there, but the service felt very mediocre for the price and wasn't five-star. There were a few practical hiccups: the elevator was broken when we arrived, though staff carried our bags all the way upstairs. One morning the shower had no hot water, and getting our car from the garage at checkout took a long time. The front door was locked one night and we couldn't get in, but one call promptly sorted it out. Parking cost 40€ per night. It didn't feel like a real hotel to us, more like renting a room in an apartment building, with Airbnb vibes. They even described themselves as more of a Bed & Breakfast, though that isn't disclosed on the website. It wasn't an awful stay, just not a great one, and our expectations were much higher.

Those rooms are incredible, and the views from the window and rooftop are stunning. You can hardly get more central, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more, it was the perfect Florence stay!
