Hotel Fiorita

The breakfast area has a lovely view over Florence, but guests aren't allowed to sit there after 10:00 AM. We tried to enjoy the view and were told to leave, with an explanation that the "fire department being upset." That seems a shame, since it's the best part of the hotel and unavailable outside breakfast hours. We chose this place for its location, but wouldn't return. The room was cramped, the single beds were too short for an average adult, and dust stayed on the floor throughout our stay. The cleaning lady also seemed annoyed whenever we were in the room after she knocked. We began leaving to make things easier, but once gave her two hours and came back to find the room untouched. When she knocked later and we were there, she got upset again. It made us feel like an inconvenience instead of guests. The whole stay felt stressful and poor value, with unprofessional staff and bad cleanliness. Please don't bother replying to this review. You tend to respond aggressively and defend everything instead of accepting feedback. A reply just means responding to a message, whether or not it solves anything.

It was easy to get around from here: close to the train station, walkable to Mercado Centrale and the main sights, and there’s a lift to the third floor. The room was pretty, especially the ceiling, and very clean. Towels were spotless and super soft, the croissants at breakfast were excellent, and breakfast itself was nice. The bed and pillows could have been softer. One night, people hanging out in the street made a lot of noise until 1:30 am. It should have been a quiet street, but that part really wasn't good.

The price was decent, and the rooms were above average. The hotel is on the third floor, with an elevator that works well and is needed to reach it. The location near the train station was convenient. Florence has better rooms and service, but they cost more at this price point. The desk staff felt indifferent and not especially welcoming, as if they were overworked. Getting to breakfast takes a climb. It was mostly basic pastries and Italian coffee, with a poor attempt at hot options. The juice wasn't worth the squeeze for us, so even though breakfast was included, we paid to eat elsewhere most days. You can find much worse for the money.

Just a little of everything at breakfast: omelette, bacon, vegetables, Tuscan salami, Philadelphia, seasonal fruit and pastries. The rooms were newly renovated and exceptionally clean. It's near the train station and close to the center. I'd recommend it, and we'll definitely be back!
