The location made it easy to get straight into Florence, and I can't wait to return to the city and have this feel like home again. During my two nights at the Santa Maria Novella, I had the most fabulous hotel stay I've ever had. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Camilla at the desk went above and beyond, and Anna in the restaurant was just as lovely. My room was comfortable, with a great bathroom and turndown service. Breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty, with plenty of sweet and savory choices. The hotel bar also had excellent service and cocktails.

We asked the hotel to help with airport transfers before we arrived, and the friendly staff took care of it. The rooms are gorgeous, and the location makes it easy to explore Florence. Paying extra for a piazza view is worth it. We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Santa Maria Novella and would absolutely return.

We loved being able to see the Duomo every day, and there are plenty of restaurants, gelateria and cafes nearby. The station and tram are also very close. The hotel was very clean, and our fifth-floor room was quiet, with no outside noise. They cleaned it every day. Breakfast starts at 7 a.m. and includes eggs, cheese, bacon and plenty more. Everyone on staff was friendly, and they gave us a bottle of prosecco for my birthday. We loved Florence and this hotel. Our taxi from the airport cost €35.

The only thing that bothered me was the hard pillows. Otherwise, the hotel has everything you'd want for a stay in old Florence, and it's close to everything. We walked a couple of times and had a great time. I imagine each room is a little different. Ours had a balcony opening onto a couple of residences, away from the street.

I came to Florence by myself for the first time this summer and felt safe and welcome throughout my stay at Hotel Santa Maria Novella. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the daily breakfast was wonderful. The staff were friendly, accommodating and really helpful. I can't say enough good things. Grazia!
