Grand Hotel Minerva

The hotel is very close to the train station, which was really helpful. It was a nice stay, but my least favorite of the three hotels we stayed at on our Italy honeymoon. Drinks in the minibar cost extra, and the restaurant was pretty expensive. We'd been told eating on the rooftop was a must, but when we went up, they said lunch was only served downstairs, lol. I wish we'd looked at more options.

The location was excellent, but the rest of the experience ranged from mediocre to bad. It took more than two hours to bring our vehicle back, which disrupted our departure and plans. When we asked what was happening, the staff weren't helpful or apologetic. The hotel's food was generally poor and overpriced, especially breakfast. One especially embarrassing example was an 8 euro hot chocolate served in a kettle with a bowl of whipped cream, but it was clearly Swiss Miss and ready whip. I wouldn't return.

The hotel is really well located, and the staff were very kind. We enjoyed the restaurants, and the breakfast was fantastic, a great way to start the day. There’s art all around the grounds, and the rooftop is a must.

The hospitality and dining were great, and the location was incredible. But I couldn't relax or sleep properly. The bed and pillows were the worst I've ever had, completely unbearable. Someone we know staying in a different part of the hotel had the same problem. Outdoor construction started at 7:45 AM and woke us up, and the heat kept running nonstop until the room felt like a furnace. I wouldn't come back if I can't get a decent night's rest.
