We had room 104, and the first two days there was no internet or airco. We didn’t notice the lack of airco at first since we were in the pool until 22:00 and then opened the room door. On the third day we got back after 18:00 to find the pool closed and the room at 26 degrees. The receptionist at the main hotel couldn’t improve things, but did offer to move us to another room, which worked and didn’t feel like an underground grave. The pool is the reason it might count as a 4-star hotel instead of 3, but staff leave at 17:00 and lock the pool door then. Unless you get in before 17:00, tough luck. This is Firenze, who gets back early just to secure an evening swim?

Staff aren’t around after 17:00, which was a little difficult. They do reply to WhatsApp very quickly, though. We had an amazing experience otherwise.

Our flight was canceled on the day we were due to arrive, so through no fault of our own we couldn’t reach the hotel. They wouldn’t listen or discuss a solution, and refused even a partial refund. We’re students on a tight budget, and the booking was a significant expense for us. The hotel showed no empathy or effort to help. That kind of rigid response and lack of customer care is unacceptable in hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, since if something goes wrong, you may be left to deal with it alone.

Another lovely stay at River. The place is modern, clean, and convenient, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

A €300-a-night 5-star hotel, but the luxury feels miniature. It’s cramped, on a secondary road, and parking is limited.
