Hotel Boccaccio

Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the hotel is very close to the train station, which was convenient. The housekeeping staff were polite too. Elbie at reception was especially friendly and funny. He suggested places to eat and even called a restaurant to reserve seats for us. Later, when my husband realized he'd left his jacket there, Elbie called to check on it for us. You can tell he enjoys his job and goes out of his way to help guests. Thank you, Elbie!

Hotel Boccaccio made our time in Florence much better than we could have managed ourselves, thanks especially to Albie. His sightseeing, gelato, and tour suggestions were wonderful, and he shared useful tips for making the most of our time. All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, including the team at the cafe next door where breakfast was served. The hotel has old fashioned charm with modern amenities, a lovely continental breakfast each morning, and a large room with plenty of closet space. It's also in a great central location near the train station. So glad we booked here!

The room felt dated and basic, and the furniture and decor could use a refresh. It's not somewhere you'd want to spend much time, and anyone expecting modern rooms and amenities may be disappointed. Breakfast was standard, with the usual options but nothing especially memorable. The hotel's real strength is its location: very close to Santa Maria Novella train station, with the Duomo and major sights a short walk away. As a convenient place to sleep and leave your luggage while exploring all day, it works well, as long as you keep expectations in check.

The hotel was okay and sits right next to the station. The night receptionist made us coffee in the morning, but seemed grumpy and didn't say hello or goodbye when we checked out.
