Hotel Camilla

The staff were the warmest part of the stay, friendly and welcoming from the start. We also slept well: the hotel was quiet despite being in a busy area, the beds were comfortable, and the A/C worked very well. The shower had good pressure and the rooms were clean. Breakfast offered a decent spread of bread, cakes, fruit, cheese, meats, cereal, yoghurt, plenty of juice, and a very good coffee machine. Hotel Camilla is in a lovely, central neighbourhood with restaurants, bars, shops, and attractions all an easy walk away. We'd happily stay again.

The location is excellent, very close to the duomo, and the staff were helpful and easy to communicate with. Still, we'd choose somewhere else next time. Breakfast was limited to coffee, sweets, and fruit, with no vegetables or eggs. The room could use an upgrade: there was mold in the shower, and the bathroom doorknob didn't work, so opening it took a struggle. Our interior room's windows faced a space inside the building, which wasn't great, and noise was a problem at times. For me, the location is the only reason to recommend it.

We had four rooms for our family at Hotel Camilla, and everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the stay. When one room's AC stopped working, the staff kindly helped us switch rooms. Everyone was welcoming, from the people cleaning the rooms and handling breakfast to the front desk team, who always checked that we were comfortable. They even carried our luggage up and down the stairs. There are no lifts, but it's two flights, and the stairwell lights make them easy to manage. The hotel is in Florence's historic district, so the older building is part of its charm and adventure. Many historical sites, places to eat, and the market are close by, and you can walk practically anywhere you'd want to visit. We look forward to returning to Florence and staying at Hotel Camilla again.

The one thing to plan for is the setting: the hotel is in an old building on the second floor, with no elevator. Otherwise, the rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. Breakfast is quite enough to get the day started, and the location puts you just a minute from Florence's main action.
