Monica Hotel

We got a freshly renovated room with a big bed, had a nice breakfast, and found the service friendly. All for a very reasonable price, just five minutes from the main train station.

We stayed at Hotel Monica in Florence in November and had a great time. The service was excellent, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the rates very affordable. A solid choice for a budget stay in Florence.

The convenient location near the train station and the amazing Indian restaurant on the ground floor were the highlights. At Hotel Monika in Florence, though, check-in was peculiar: guests are sent to another hotel, Mario, to speak with staff. When we got to Hotel Monika, there were only two staff members, and they were hard to find inside the hotel. Breakfast options were disappointingly limited, so we ate outside instead. I wouldn't book a room with breakfast included. The entrance was in poor condition and made a bad first impression. Also, there's no elevator. The location and restaurant were good, but the check-in, breakfast, and entrance detracted from the stay.

The room felt dated, though it was still roomy, and breakfast was simple but good quality. The location worked well for both the station and town. I’d stay here again.
