Hotel Nizza

We stayed as a family of four and would definitely come back. The beds were comfy, the Wi-Fi was good, and the room had a smart TV. It was nice to have a bidet in the washroom too.

We spent three nights here while visiting Florence with my family. The location is excellent, and the rooms are quite spacious for such a central hotel. There were a few minor problems. The elevator was extremely slow and didn’t start at ground level, so we had to walk up to the second floor. The air conditioner in our room was dusty, had dirt in it and gave off an unpleasant smell, so it clearly needed replacing. Soundproofing was poor, though that’s to be expected in an old building.

Our room was at the back and very quiet. It was clean, and the shower was fantastic, hot and powerful. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the Duomo, the train station and the river. You take the stairs to the first floor, then there’s a lift. There’s a kettle and some tea bags in the room. Breakfast is optional, unlimited and good quality, with bread, croissant, cheese, jam tart, juice and coffee. The staff were friendly, and the reception people were lovely and incredibly welcoming. It was such a pleasure talking with them, and their hospitality made our Florence holiday extra special. Love and hugs from England ❣️

The staff were friendly and really helpful, and the room and bathroom were clean. Hotel Nizza is also brilliantly placed, just a few minutes on foot from the Florence Cathedral, St Lorenzo cathedral, and other main sights. The building feels old and the room is dated, but that does give it a Florence sort of atmosphere. The bed sagged a little, and the bathroom only had a combined shampoo and shower gel sachet, so bring your own toiletries. It’s a walk-up for part of the way: there is a slow lift that fits one person, but it starts on the second floor, so bags still have to go up one flight.
