Hotel Nuova Italia

Breakfast was good, and the fresh cappuccino was always great. We were able to leave our luggage in the lobby after checkout while we went sightseeing, and the staff were very helpful. The room was small for four, with only enough room for the beds and our bags, but we only used it to sleep. There’s no elevator, so we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. That was fine for us, but it’s good to know before booking. The hotel is centrally located, a short walk from the train station and Duomo in Florence, with plenty of restaurants and souvenir shops close by. Since we were beside a busy street and restaurants, we could hear people talking and the usual nightlife, though it never became bothersome. We were very happy with our rooms and would recommend it to a family visiting Florence.

The rooms were clean and simple, and being so close to the trains was handy. The sidewalks nearby get really crowded, though. Service was hit or miss, and the staff could have been more welcoming. It’s an okay place to crash, but don’t count on a warm greeting 😊

The desk and breakfast staff were so friendly and helpful. It’s close to the train station, which makes it a great base for day trips around Tuscany. I’d recommend it!

The coffee was spectacular, and the location is handy for both the station and the sights. Still, I wouldn’t stay again. The stairs are narrow and steep, with no elevator, so hauling bags was hard. Bars nearby made the street very noisy, and with the hotel setting the air conditioning to 23 Celsius, the room stayed hot all night while it was in the high 80s outside. We barely slept. The shower was tiny, like one in an RV, and breakfast was just okay.
