The staff were the best part for us. They were great at check-in, kept the room clean, and when my wife stayed in feeling unwell on our third day, they asked if they could do anything. We also appreciated that room cleaning was at 10 in the morning, so we didn't feel pushed to head out early. The owner helped with our bags when we arrived, which mattered because my wife had fallen earlier in the trip and found the stairs difficult. We stayed at Hotel Palazzuolo for 3 nights and 4 days in October 2025 and had no complaints. It's on the second floor with no elevator, which initially worried me, but the owner made the luggage situation manageable. The room was clean and fine for two people, and the private bathroom was larger than ones I'd had at some other places in Italy. It's close to the train station and within walking distance of quite a few Florence sights. For the price, the location and especially the staff impressed me. I'd recommend the property.

The bathroom was technically shared and outside the room, but I never once found anyone else using it. My room also had a cute little balcony or indoor courtyard, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Everything was spotless. Don't be put off by the old-looking exterior gate, the inside is modern and spacious. The staff were courteous, the cleaning was excellent, and these shared-bathroom rooms are great value. Highly recommend.

The stairs were the one real drawback, from street level to reception and then up to the room. I’m lucky to still be fit and healthy, so if stairs are difficult for you, you may want to stay somewhere else. Otherwise I slept well, which matters a lot in a hotel room. It was very hot outside, but the air conditioning let me forget about that. Reception were friendly and helpful, and suggested a good restaurant, though Florence makes that an easy recommendation.

We were welcomed really well, and our room was very clean. The towels and sheets were clean too, and they provided soap and shampoo for free. It's close to everything, about a 5-minute walk from SMN train station and near the city center. I highly recommend this hotel.
