In Florence Apartments

There’s a nice Italian restaurant downstairs, and the apartment itself was spacious, clean, and attractive. Getting into town takes at least a 20-minute walk since it’s out on the edge of Florence. You also need to go to another hotel to pick up the keys.

The studio had a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and was clean and pleasant. It’s in a quiet area with grocery stores nearby, about a 20-minute walk from Santa Maria Del Fiore (Duomo). Being near the river means mosquitoes can be an issue. Keep in touch with the hosts if you need anything, like more toilet paper or a key for the laundry room.

We got around by bicycle using the mobike app, as the owner suggested, and found it useful. The place is about 2.5 km from downtown, a 10-minute walk from the river and the Park. The owner was helpful, and the apartment was large, clean, IKEA-style, and had coded entrances that felt safe. The road noise was a lot, though, and better windows might help. I’d recommend it, but the cleaning and towel change weren’t done during our stay, even though cleaning was included in the price. When I asked, he said cleaning would happen after we left.

We were 21 people staying from May 28 to 30, and two rooms had broken air conditioning when we arrived around 2:00 pm. They were really hot and uncomfortable. Three rooms on separate floors also had to share one AC controller, and despite repeated calls, nobody came to help until the next day. When we kept asking, we were rudely told we should be able to manage without AC for a day. Their answer about the missing remote controls was to set the temperature where it felt comfortable until replacements could be provided later. The place is nice, but the management was awful. We lost a whole day because of their incompetence, and the staff need proper customer care training. Check every facility with them before paying. Once they have the money, they’re hard to reach and very rude.
