Hotel Miceli - Civico 50

We only booked here at the last second because our plans fell through and the price was affordable. It turned out to be a lovely place. The front desk woman helped when I couldn't find the entrance, showed us around and explained the room keys. She also gave us a map and pointed out things to do around town. The place was comfortable, accommodating, and clean. I wish we could've stayed longer.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the location was excellent, central and close to almost everything you'd want to do in Florence. I'd come back for sure.

The service was terrible. Our room looked much nicer in the photo than in reality, and was quite worn. Worst of all, ants were crawling around and got into our shoes. The manager messaged us saying not to eat in the room and then there'd be no ants, which was outrageous because we hadn't eaten there. Ants don't just appear that quickly, so they must have been there already. We insisted on a room change. A rather rude woman at reception also demanded city tax from us, even though we'd paid it to the maid, who'd forgotten to tell her. She was very rude and didn't care about the ants. Nobody even apologized.

The elevator is extremely small, maybe enough for two people and a suitcase if you're lucky. They do have luggage storage, but I wasn't comfortable leaving my things in an unlocked room with no staff there. The rest was good: the rooms were extremely clean and spacious, the bathroom was nice, the beds comfortable, and the air conditioning worked great. I was a bit wary because some reviews mentioned trouble with the keyless entry, but following the hotel's instructions made it super simple. Their email and WhatsApp communication was excellent. Great location and accommodations, and I'd stay again.
