Residenza Millennium

There was no reception, although I’d told the owner through the app that I’d be arriving at night from Barcelona. He took the payment as soon as I got there. He also insists on cash for the city tax and wouldn’t accept a card, then took my belongings from my hands as “collateral.” I had to call the police to get my things back. The hotel was dirty, and the owner came into my room without permission. Even after I told him not to, he still walked in. He keeps deleting my honest reviews. His name may be Mario or something like that.

We were there for two nights, from 20 to 22 September 2024. The host was agitated and loud over a faulty smoke sensor, and his behavior was so strange that we were really frightened. We checked out shaking. I can’t recommend this accommodation.

Residenza has a lovely atmosphere, and I’d definitely come back. The old building feels authentic, right in the heart of Florence, and my room was very clean with nice decor and high frescoed ceilings. I sorted out my check-in and check-out times with the owner beforehand, so everything went smoothly. Santa Maria Novella station is surprisingly close, which is great when traveling. Local restaurants and the beautiful river are about a 10-minute walk away.

The owner gave me a very warm welcome, and there was a bottle of Italian wine waiting in the room. It was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful and clean, and literally a one-minute walk from the station. I rented a room at the Residenza for a few days in Florence and had a great time. I recommend it, and have also suggested it to friends going to Florence for New Year’s Eve.
