San Lorenzo

The location worked really well for me. Room 1 was above a market that opens early, but it didn't bother me much. Florence has so much to see, you should be out exploring by then anyway. I used to live in Florence in 2022, and staying here brought back that very Florentine feeling. I was traveling alone and felt safe throughout my two nights. There are several doors to get through, and I also put a heavy chair by my door so I'd hear if anyone tried to come in. The owners were always reachable on What’s App, and their instructions for getting the key were very clear. It's a lovely old building with a stunning roof, which I especially appreciated as an architecture fan. The renovated rooms bring in modern conveniences while keeping the historic character. Being able to reach the managers on WhatsApp at any time was excellent, and the cleaning staff I met were very friendly. It's an experience I'd happily repeat, especially at a fair price. The central location meant we never needed public transport. The rooms are on the second floor and there's no elevator. Inside, the entrance area is spacious and has a corner for coffee and herbal tea. My room was cozy, with a king-size bed, a great mattress, and a renovated bathroom. Guests also have a small table, towels, and a hairdryer. Storage was the one frustration. There wasn't enough practical space in the wall unit, so we had to keep our clothes in the suitcase.

What stays with me about Residenza San Lorenzo is the location, right across from the lively market and in the heart of Florence. Being near the market gave the trip an authentic touch, and the accommodation was impeccably clean. The studio I booked wasn't all that suited to a tourist, which was the main drawback. It was rather small, and the dull walls made it feel unwelcoming. There was a little stovetop and sink, a gas boiler, and a washing machine in the room. I wondered whether that setup was possible, and it made me think the place might have been converted from a common area. Those features made the room less comfortable for a tourist stay. I still remember the excellent location fondly. Next time, I hope to pick somewhere better suited to my needs and enjoy Florence more fully.

We were a group of 17 and had already booked and paid when we found out shortly afterwards that we couldn't travel to Florence. The rate was non-refundable, but the owners were kind enough to cancel everything and refund us. That showed real professionalism and good service. We'll definitely stay here when we visit Florence next time. Thank you.
