This beautiful little church is worth a visit. Look for the small coin box just to the left when you enter. Put in €1 and the church lights up for a few minutes. Don't miss the lovely wooden vaulted ceiling or the Della Robbia altarpiece. For access: come from Lugarno degli Acciaiuoli, which is an easy, level road, though there is a narrow passage toward the church. There are two steps down into the courtyard before the entrance. You might take a small folding chair from inside the church and set it at the bottom of those steps. Hopefully your caregiver can help you down and back up. Once you're facing the church, there's a small door on the right. When opened from inside, it gives entry over a very small 3” step. If you can manage the two steps, the visit is worthwhile. If you can't, it's inaccessible. I didn't find any information about toilets, accessible or otherwise, and doubt there are any. There are plenty of cafes along the Arno that should be able to accommodate you.

For 1 Euro, a machine by the entrance lights up the whole interior, which makes the artwork easier to see. Santi Apostoli is a small church at Piazza del Limbo and one of the city's oldest. It was renovated in the 15th century, but many Medieval and Romanesque details are still there. Inside, I liked the Tabernacle of Giovanni della Robbia (circa 1512), the Holy Sepulcher (fire holder), and the Tomb of Oddo Altoviti.

After leaving the Dumo on Easter Sunday, with the town packed with tourists, my wife wanted somewhere quiet to pray. This community-sized church was just starting mass and suited us perfectly. The priest was pleasant and easy to approach.

The English Easter mass was lovely, especially Father David's homily.

We got married here two weeks ago, and Fr. Kramer Cameron, who has Canadian roots like us, made us feel at home. He led the wedding mass in English, which we really appreciated. The church is beautiful and tucked off a quiet Florence street. Natallia was lovely on the organ, and two youth members read at the wedding. Thanks to the Santi Apostoli family and Fr. Kramer for making the day so special.
