On the day we were due to arrive, the owner canceled our reservation just minutes before check-in, saying the place was overbooked. Booking.com’s only alternative for us was a bungalow at a campsite in October. We’d booked the apartment through Booking.com, and for days the listed phone number was switched off or unavailable. When we finally reached the owner, he rudely insisted that check-in had to be by 6:00 PM, a time we couldn’t possibly reach Florence. Friends and acquaintances in Florence helped us find someone to collect the keys, but after another week of trying to arrange delivery with the owner by email and phone, we got nowhere. Stay away from this place!

We never got a direct reply from the owners, and it took Booking.com four months to refund only €163, saying I had broken the reservation. I’d booked to check in on September 29th. When we arrived, nobody answered the doorbell or the contact phone, even though they had charged me €343 two months earlier for a Booking.com reservation listed at €180. They said there were “extras,” including €100 for cleaning. We had to find another hotel that night, which was expensive, and with demand so high we nearly couldn’t find anywhere to stay. The next day they messaged to say we could check in, then Booking.com immediately told me the accommodation had canceled the reservation. Please don’t book here. They are scammers!
