Villa Tortorelli

Tucked into Florence’s historic center, the villa is quiet despite being right in the heart of it. The place feels cozy and welcoming, and the staff were kind and helpful. Everything was clean, inside and out, and the interior design has been carefully put together. Breakfast was high quality, with fresh ingredients and especially good artisan bakery items. I’d recommend staying here if you’re coming to Florence.

The pool was a real pleasure both days, and the area around it was clean and well looked after. We also liked how walkable the location was from the old town, with some sweet little boutiques by local craftsmen along certain routes. We were a little wary of the online self check-in at first because the platform felt sketchy. But once we arrived, our two-night stay in mid-September was amazing. The room was spacious and clean, with all the basics, a small balcony overlooking the inner yard, and a roomy, tidy bathroom. The staff were friendly, polite, easy to communicate with, and accommodating. They even kept our luggage safely for a few hours after checkout. Breakfast was included, not huge, but tasty with enough options for different tastes. We’d definitely stay again.

The low ratings are right. This feels more like a basic guesthouse or homestay than a four-star hotel. We got no instructions before check-in, and finding the place was incredibly difficult. Parking was a nightmare too, and the room facilities were poor quality. I planned the trip with Gemini, and apparently that AI tool is polluted with advertising posts.

We were very happy with our four-night stay with our child. The setting is quiet but still close to the city center, and getting around the rooms and other facilities was easy. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was excellent quality, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. This was our favorite place to stay during our Italy tour.
