W Florence

Aldo, the concierge, really made our stay by finding us tickets for the Duomo cupola. His local knowledge and dedication were outstanding. Flo at the restaurant also deserves a special mention for her warm, attentive service and great energy each morning. The new W Florence is central and easy to explore from, with excellent breakfasts and a modern, well-equipped fitness center. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

If you book a Premier room, be very clear that you want an end room with a deck area. Most of these rooms face an enclosed, roofed courtyard, with no natural daylight and no privacy unless you keep the curtains closed. The website photos seem to show views from perhaps two end rooms with extended deck space, so the rooms don’t look as advertised. That’s a significant issue, especially from a large American company. Even a note saying these rooms have no external window could help avoid a false-advertising concern. See the photos, one actual and one from the website. The rooms are large and well furnished, but buyers should beware.

Our first stay at W Florence felt special from the start, especially because we’re triplets and the whole team made us feel so welcome. Martina, the front desk supervisor, was outstanding, and her leadership showed in the warm welcome we got from Camilla and Simone. The concierge team gave us helpful tips that made exploring Florence easy. At breakfast, Adrien’s hospitality and leadership stood out, while Karolina and Florica were attentive and friendly. Timothy, also a restaurant supervisor, served us well, and Anna at the bar was warm and professional. The rooms were modern, spotless, and comfortable, and both the breakfast selection and food quality were excellent. The location is perfect, just minutes from the train station, shopping, and great restaurants. This was a 5+ star experience, and we can’t wait to return.

They treated us really well, and the hotel is close to lots of places in Florence. The building has been redone with modern amenities across six floors, with a rooftop bar on the sixth. It’s lovely up there, though if you’re on the fifth floor, some music comes through until it stops at 11 pm. The lower floor has a large fitness center, steam room, and sauna, all nice and upscale. Breakfast is worth adding to your stay, although getting a coffee refill can take a while.
