Lory’s residence

I still haven’t received even one euro back. I booked two rooms through Booking.com on December 7, 2024, and that evening the property called to say they had no rooms left and would refund me. I canceled the booking the next morning, December 8, then contacted Booking.com to explain. They agreed with me, but the refund still hasn’t arrived. When I call, an older woman answers and says her nephew is handling it. He’s apparently so clever that he never gets in touch. Dishonest people.

Rest was out of the question, with the main road on one side of the building and the train station on the other. The bed was a makeshift sofa bed that looked at least 30 years old, with a paper-thin mattress and an uncomfortable base. The room and bathroom were dirty, with lint and lots of hair on the floor. There were peeling walls, awful heat, and practically no amenities. Every socket was loose, the switches were hidden, and the electrical setup was terrible. There wasn’t even soap or shampoo. The lady called it a “little apartment” when I booked, but it was cramped. A place like this shouldn’t be licensed to operate. Strongly discouraged.

A window left open all night, with trains passing just 50 meters away, made the stay a nightmare. The room was like a cubicle, and the bathroom was maybe one square meter, with no window or bidet. When I asked for a fan, I was told there wasn’t one. Later, the owners told me, without apologizing, that they did have a fan but had given it to another guest. The sockets were right next to the mattress, and the bedside lamp was burned out. A ceiling vent let in light from other guests turning on the entryway light when they came in at night. If this were a serious country, the place should be closed.

The owner was welcoming and kind, and the nightly price was excellent. The residence is quiet, warm, reasonably clean, and in a great spot just steps from the center, with free private parking. The one drawback is the small bathroom and shower stall, but for this price, the little shortcomings are easy to make up for.
