Palazzo Bonaventura 1906

Patrizia, the manager, made me feel like an old friend each morning and had local tips to share. I was working remotely, and although I’d read reviews saying the WiFi barely worked, I found it extremely fast and fine for video calls. The hotel is right in the heart of Forio village on Ischia, and the room was spotless and beautifully decorated. It was huge, with high ceilings and lovely old windows. I really liked the charm of the restored historic home. It felt like a home away from home.

We’d love to come back. Everything was well organized, and feeling at home while on vacation was the best part for us. The Palazzo sits in a garden behind the building, where the very good restaurant has its outdoor seating, so outside hustle and bustle doesn’t reach you. Our room looked onto the garden. You could hear the restaurant later in the evening, but it was never loud or unpleasant, and the staff weren’t noisy after closing. A rooster woke us each morning, though he was far away and never too loud. The room was phenomenally spacious, with ceilings that must have been five meters high. The mix of old and new furnishings was stylish and worked together well, making it feel comfortable and homey. The bathroom was enormous, especially by southern Italy standards, and may once have been a separate room. Everything was spotless, the linens smelled wonderful, and the beds were comfortable, with the slightly firmer mattresses we prefer. It’s a beautiful old palazzo, bought and now being renovated by a young couple. Patrizia greets you with a big smile, is helpful with every need, and is always around for questions or requests. There’s a lot of history in the house, which you can see and feel everywhere. It’s best to ask around and hear about it for yourself. The room was cleaned daily, and anything we needed was easy to ask for.

We had a wonderful few days and would definitely return. The location was ideal for exploring the area, and the cleanliness was impeccable. Patrizia, the owner, was the highlight: attentive, friendly, helpful, and always making sure we felt at home. The B&B is in a charming period building, carefully finished throughout. Its warm, characterful atmosphere and furnishings suit the historic place while still offering modern comforts. We highly recommend it for an authentic, quality stay.

The owner was always kind, available, and ready to help whenever we needed anything. We spent five lovely days here in Forio. The B&B was comfortable, clean, and welcoming, and its central spot made it easy to get around on foot. A great choice if you want to enjoy Ischia in comfort and tranquility.
