Ring Hostel

The service was lovely, and everyone was very polite. Finding the place through Google Maps was incredibly difficult, but staff were more than happy to guide me when I called. For the price it’s very good overall, though I can’t give it full marks. The rooms were just OK, and the bathroom was a little nasty. Still, it is a hostel.

It’s a lovely family atmosphere, and Lorenzo and Julia were really helpful during my great couple of days there. We walked through little streets and past home gardens to what’s probably the best swimming beach, and it’s public too, Cava de Isola. At night we all took the hostel bongo van to the hot springs, and I stayed up late for the limoncello challenge at the rooftop bar.

Mariana, Julie, and Lorenzo are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make Ring Hostel special. You can feel the kindness and generosity of this family business. If you’re coming, book at least 4 nights so there’s time to enjoy Ischia. I loved the scooter rental, Sorgeto thermal baths/beach, Lorenzo’s family restaurant, climbing mount Duomo, Cava Dell’ Isola, the boat trip, BBQ night, and exploring Forio town. Can’t recommend it enough.

This is a hostile, so it may not suit you if you’re after five-star comforts, but I’d still pick it over anywhere else. Lorenzo is an amazing host, and after many trips staying in places from no stars to five stars, I haven’t had better customer service. He gave us recommendations, greeted us with fresh fruit, and got us a reservation at the best restaurant we’ve ever been to when we asked at the last minute. Breakfast was provided each morning too. We visited on a weekday in the off season, so it was made just for us.
