Michelangelo Hotel

We were warmly welcomed, and for the price the stay was workable for one night. The rooms had a very sparse, fascist-era style, as you can see in the video. In the bathroom, the window was open and I couldn’t shut it; there was only one small towel and one large one. In the other room, the shower leaked and flooded the floor, so we used all the towels to mop it up. There were ants in that bathroom too.

I’ve stayed here many times and I’ll be back again. The hotel is cosy, and the staff are lovely and always ready to help. There’s a small free parking area, but it’s only for private cars. It’s a handy base for Forli and nearby cities like Faenza, Imola and Dozza. I even found it worked for a trip to Firenze. There isn’t a good restaurant within walking distance, though there is a pizzeria about five minutes away. Breakfast is simple, nothing fancy, so don’t come expecting a lavish buffet. Some things in the rooms, like the washbasin taps and bathroom faucets, could use replacing. The water pressure is sometimes low, but I can live with that.

There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, and it’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the city center. I was there for three nights on business. The room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was good, with nothing missing for me.

Antonio at reception seemed to be in charge, and he was friendly and attentive. I had a good stay, and Forli is a good choice of place to stay. The shower cabins need replacing and the bathrooms need renovation. The doors are very thin, so outside noise comes through, and people slamming them late at night makes it worse.
