The bottle was a gift from Lorenzo Marinello (ONAV Alessandria), kept carefully and finally opened and poured right away. Gavi 2001 Special Selection, 1L, had no stale note at all. It showed mature freshness, with almond and cooked fruit. We paired it with sardines and lentils, a medley of steamed vegetables, turmeric, and mountain toma (Chiomonte-Frais). For the adventurous, tongue with green sauce.
The wines are fine and very elegant, and the Gavi is no exception. What a lovely surprise. The entrance is impressive, as it should be. Miss Chiara welcomed us even though we hadn't booked an appointment, our mistake, and was very kind and helpful. She helped us appreciate how much effort and determination the owners have put in. The place is still being completed, but I'm sure it will become a fairytale spot. Congratulations, and thank you.
The cellar's wines are excellent, and the setting is spectacular. I'd highly recommend it for private events.
