Hotel Villa Nefele

The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, and I was comfortable in my lovely single room during the early evening. I was glad to have a balcony and refrigerator to keep water cold. I spent a lot of time there because I had work due, and I was only in Naxos to visit friends the next day. I stayed alone for one night yesterday. At night, though, I woke to horrible “screaming” sounds from neighboring rooms. The walls were paper thin, and the rooms are so close together you can hear someone in the shower. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and never felt so uncomfortable. It was a horrible experience, and if I were staying with children, we would have left during the night. Please add wall insulation or clear signs asking guests to keep the noise down. If the rooms are so close together, the night manager should routinely check for noise. It's such a letdown for a lovely hotel.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff at the entrance were very kind. The only downside was that the AC in our room simply didn't blow strongly enough, so we had to keep it running whenever we were in the room. The hotel is at a very busy intersection and was quite noisy, even though we were on the third floor. We were there on a Saturday night and couldn't sleep until 2 a.m. because of the street noise.

I stayed there in 2009 and loved it. There are lots of places to visit from here, and you can try "la cucina siciliana". It's near the beach, with helpful staff, nice clean rooms, and pretty cheap.

A very nice, clean hotel near the beach in Naxos. It's a short drive to taormina, and the beach and restaurants are right here too if you just want to relax in the summer.
