Villa Antonino

The service was excellent, and everything was very clean. The location is handy for Giardini beachfront, shops, restaurants, and Recanati bus station. We were especially grateful for the airport transfer in the middle of the night. We missed having espresso and cornetto at the local restaurant on mornings when it was closed, but enjoyed the other meals.

We were welcomed by kind, friendly staff who also speak English. The room was modern, comfortable, and very clean. They even upgraded us to a room with a terrace at no extra charge, which suited us better. There's free coffee in the morning, and the restaurant's food is very good. They also make gluten-free pizza in a separate oven. The location is very good, just a few minutes from the main promenade. Highly recommended!

Villa Antonino is right next to the sea beach, and the staff made us feel welcome and valued throughout our stay. The room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable king-sized bed and a bathroom equipped with modern amenities. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting a luxurious, comfortable stay.

I was very disappointed by how our stay was handled. We booked Villa Antonino for Thursday, 02/09/25 as a birthday present for my husband, expecting a 4-star villa rated 9.3. Instead, we were sent to Villa Cristina, a 3-star property rated 8.2, in a different area, for the same price. Villa Cristina was also listed online at a lower rate, so it didn't feel like equal value. I had messaged the host before arriving to say we'd check in around 11 PM. While we were on the plane without service, the host sent three messages: first, saying my credit card didn't work, which wasn't true, as it was valid, had enough funds, and I'd cleared its use in Europe with my bank; then, that check-in at Villa Antonino closed at 9 PM; and finally, that a sewer problem meant we had been moved to Villa Cristina. Later, Booking.com emailed to say my Villa Antonino reservation was canceled because of a card issue. That was also incorrect, since the same card worked perfectly at Villa Cristina. We arrived after 11 PM with our two children already asleep, so we didn't really have a choice but to stay. It was a stressful and upsetting way to spend what was meant to be a special occasion. I hope future guests get clearer and fairer communication. Hi Giovanni, thanks for your prompt response. I want to clarify a few things from our side. I understand the official check-in policy and appreciate that you accommodated us after 9 PM. Our confusion came from the website saying a 24-hour front desk was available. I never wrote the review to get a discount, and I'm truly sorry if you read it that way. That's a tough assumption to make. We understand that emergencies like a sewer problem can happen. Our disappointment was about the service and communication during it. Moving us from a highly rated 4-star villa to a 3-star place with lower reviews in a different area was a significant change. We appreciated the free parking, but our concern about the area's safety was unfortunately confirmed: we woke to find our car had been scratched with a key, as the video shows. Transparency matters so much to travelers. I only wanted to share our honest experience to help future guests know what to expect. We wish you all the best.
