We had a lovely, peaceful stay, and our hosts next door were friendly and helpful. The house had everything we needed, including a large kitchen with room for all eight of us. The kids especially enjoyed the pool and fireplace. There were also free bikes, which made the short ride to the nearby beach easy.

Getting to the beach was a lot less convenient than we expected. We chose the house because it was described as less than 1 km away, but it turned out to be 3 km and took over 40 minutes to walk. Gilberto lent us bikes, which made getting around quicker and much more enjoyable. We were also told to keep quiet after 11 pm, and I couldn’t stay outside because that bothered the other guests. We had to be quiet because Gilberto’s wife worked in the morning. We thought we were renting the whole house to ourselves, but learned that Gilberto lived there with us, using a separate entrance. There was also a surprise cottage in the yard that wasn’t mentioned in the house description or shown in its pictures, and another couple staying there. We had to share the pool, barbecue, parking area, and yard with them. The description made it sound as if every room had its own toilet. That wasn’t true: only one room has a toilet, and there’s one other toilet on each floor. The worst part for me, though, was the kitchen dirt. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned for weeks. Grease was on the cutlery and dishes and all around the kitchen. I don’t recommend this place. It wasn’t what the pictures and description led us to expect.

I wouldn’t recommend this place. The cleanliness was awful, and there was an insect infestation. Have a look at the pictures and judge for yourself. The listing describes a whole 2000-square-metre villa for your own use, but you actually share it with the host and his wife. There’s also a separate cottage on the property with other guests, and it doesn’t appear in the listing pictures. The ad says there are three double rooms with private bathrooms, but only one has its own bathroom. It also claims the house is less than 1 km from the beach, when it’s nearly 3 km away.

It felt peaceful in the countryside outside Jesolo, even though the beach, supermarkets, and other services were only a few minutes away. We loved relaxing by the pool and in the private garden, and having BBQ for dinner. The host made us feel at home and was always there if we had questions or needed information. We hope to return soon.
