Case Ballerini

We stayed in apartment 8, which has a rustic, distinctive feel, with views of the olive grove and hills and even a distant glimpse of the sea. The owner was fantastic, energetic despite his age, and ready to help with anything we needed. He even gave us a bottle of his own wine. Saturnia is only a few minutes away.

Mr. Romano is a special, consistently kind host, and two cute kittens greet you too. The welcoming villa is comfortably equipped and sits in an enchanting landscape among olive trees. It’s very close to the Saturnia hot springs. I’d happily repeat the experience.

The house was dirty, cluttered with too many paintings and unsettling objects, and had broken sockets that didn’t meet regulations. Heating cost an extra €1.50 per hour, controlled by a questionable timer. Payment was cash only, with no registration. I’ve never stayed somewhere so horrible, and I can’t understand its high rating on Booking.com. The owner couldn’t be reached when we arrived or left. A disgrace.

A charming elderly Italian man runs this holiday villa. It’s a good place to stay if you’re visiting the Saturnia Hot Springs in the region. Don’t expect luxury, just somewhere to relax and unwind.
