This place is wonderfully central but still very quiet. The room was spacious, comfortable, and cozy, with lovely antiques that gave it a real sense of history. The palazzo feels like an old Italian home should, with the ease and warmth of a lived-in house rather than a hotel. Claudio's hospitality was outstanding. He found us last-minute dinner bookings at delicious local restaurants, and they welcomed us with extra warmth because we were “Claudio’s guests.” His mother made homemade pies for breakfast every morning and insisted we eat them while still warm. Those small gestures made everything feel personal and intimate. Claudio and his wonderful mother treated us like honored family guests, not visitors. We left Mantua feeling grateful and touched, and already wanting to return. A truly exceptional B&B and a lovely taste of Italian hospitality.

The 15th-century building was redone in the Baroque period, with extravagant fireplaces, antique woodwork, and a banqueting hall used as the breakfast room. Getting upstairs means taking a grand, elegant marble staircase, and Claudio kindly carried our bags both up and down. Our bathroom was contemporary, with two sinks, a shower, and bathrobes. This really feels like a palace, yet it has all the comforts of the 21st century. Breakfast was a delicious spread, and the table was a feast for the eyes. Oh my, what a palatial B&B!

Claudio was an outstanding host and went out of his way to help us sort out an issue. The room, breakfast, and facilities were all exquisite. The palazzo is conveniently placed for walking to all the sights in Mantua. We had a wonderful stay and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you, Claudio.

The location is excellent, on a quiet street, and our air-conditioned room was enormous and well equipped. We felt lucky to stay in this three-room B&B inside a grand palazzo that has been the family's home since 1960. It's run by a mature man who speaks English well and his elderly mother. An exceptional experience!

We had a great experience here. The palazzo is a historic building renovated by the current owner's family, and the service was warm. It's close to both the train station and Palazzo Ducale. We'd happily come back.
