The room itself is lovely, thoughtfully laid out in a fairly new space within an old building, with lively design details. The location is excellent, right at the valley's edge and a short walk from Matera's old town, so we didn't need transport while there. The big problem during our stay, 23-26 May 2025, was the renovation next door. Jackhammer and drilling noise ran from 8am to 4.30pm, making the room unusable during those hours. There was no work Sunday, but Friday, Saturday, and Monday were bad. I don't know when the project will end, but it doesn't seem short-term. Check-in directions should be sent before arrival. Also, don't drive to the apartment, even just to unload bags. It's almost inaccessible and has no parking, and getting back out by car was difficult for me. Go straight to the public lot on the next street instead. It's safe and costs €1 and hour or €10 a day. From there, the room is about a 100-metre walk with either steps or a hill, so you'll need to carry your luggage.

The owner was very attentive, and the Wi-Fi was fast. The room was nice, with good amenities, and the place has only just opened this year. It's close to the city centre but sits in a residential area, so nights are quiet. There's a supermarket and fruit shop about a 5-6 minute walk away.

The owner kindly stayed up for us when our train and bus were delayed and we got in late. The place was clean, pretty, and quite close to the city centre. I'd definitely recommend it.

We had to walk a little, but it was worth it: the place is just three blocks from the busy city centre. Everything was clean and tidy, and the service was excellent. Breakfast wasn't part of our booking, yet the hostess kindly brought us coffee, juice, water, pancakes, and jam with chocolate cake. Good, pleasant, and inexpensive. I highly recommend it.
